Saturday 28th – Tuesday 31st
I think the weather has dominated our week so far it never seems to make up its mind, -10.9c last night and I was hoping to get some stuff into the greenhouse, maybe by the end of the week, we have put heating in and water containers to hold the warmth of the sun when it appears.
Maria has got a new app for the veg garden so we have been out measuring all the beds, she is hoping to use companion planting, we are already organic and figure this has to be the next move, time will tell, she is testing the app for 7 days before we purchase it.
We ventured out to the shops, it was very good as I went to the main shop during the time allocated for us retired people, there was hardly anyone there and it was very easy. We have done a lot of online shopping to save us from going to the town, they seem to be getting stocked up and we didn’t find any shortage.
Wednesday 1st – Sunday 5th
Its not changing here right now, virus numbers seem to have levelled out, hopefully, I have to say that the politicians here lead by example, they always have a face mask on when they give briefings or press conferences, in the UK I have not seen a single one wearing any type of protection. Footballers in one of the top clubs were asked to take a pay cut but said they wouldn’t so the club sacked them all, saves any discussion, they are overpaid at the best of times so why pay them now, they must be so short of cash eh!!!!
We have at last moved stuff into the greenhouse during the day but will have to bring it in at night as we are still having cold nights, the garlic is looking great, Maria rescued a Blue tit that crashed into our windows, amazing colours in the spring, we have now put the trellis up around the patio area and bought all the bonsai’s out from under the wood shavings where they live through the winter, it is starting to look good.
Today (Sun) it has been very warm and it looks like it will be even warmer for the rest of this week, we really could do with some rain.
Take care out there and stay home stay safe. Nuf said.
