Well last week bought several heavy snowfalls and up in the mountains at long last we had powder to free-ride in, snowboarders and skiers seemed to appear from out of nowhere to enjoy the thrill of riding in pretty good powder snow conditions.
I realise that there are people who will read this and either do not enjoy the snow or have never been free-riding but let me assure you there is nothing like spending hours just playing around in these conditions.
On Friday I persuaded Maria to take time off from ski instructing and we went up to Chleb and had a magical time, the visibility was not so great at altitude but Maria’s knowledge of these mountains meant we found clean runs down some really nice valleys, friends of ours tagged along for some of the rides which makes it even more enjoyable, I don’t think I have seen Maria with such a smile on her face, it was a wicked day.
Next week we have some of our English friends children coming over to stay for a weeks winter sport and it looks as though they will get quite good conditions while they are here, it is always difficult to predict the weather for a holiday in the mountains, but some years are better than others, so fingers crossed for them…..
Our friend Petra who works for Rossignol went boarding with us the other day and took a couple of pictures of me riding, so just to prove that I do actually go snowboarding I will put them on the end of this blog, have a good week everyone…….
