The hot weather is here and with it come the storms, something that is common especially in the mountains, so as I write this it is raining very hard, very warm and the lightning is a bit too close for comfort some of the time, we do need some rain as it has been in the +30c temperature range for a couple of weeks and everything is dry.
The garden is doing very well and vegetables have started to grow like there is no tomorrow, Maria’s three hives are so busy she has been adding boxes quite often so we are hopeful of a good honey harvest, started to make jam last week and we went out on Saturday and picked 3kgs of wild strawberries in four hours which made eleven jars of very beautiful jam.
Now that we are catching up on all the work we had to do, just finished a new path to the shed and hives, we hope to get out and do some more photography, there are a couple of places in the Tatra Mountains that look especially interesting, so in the next week or two that is where we will be.
Last Thursday was one year since Mum died and it seems to have gone so fast, we do miss her and the phone calls we had were always so different every week, guess she is keeping an eye on us just as she always did…….
