It is always a quiet time for us, the snow has not arrived in quantity yet and work around the house has come to a standstill, we have been doing a little Christmas shopping and hope to complete it by the weekend.
The signs are there that it is getting near to the ski season, the snow guns have been started up as you can see and people are looking at cleaning their winter gear.
A very small bird flew into one of our windows the other day, Maria identified it as a Goldcrest, it was a bit stunned but after five minutes shook its head and whizzed away over the roof, we also had a visit from a pair of Crested Tits which I do not remember ever seeing before, they were so small and fast, not much chance of a photo. We have now got four feeders out with Sunflowers seeds as the temperature is dropping, minus 5.5 last night, it makes for a great sight when they are all flying back and fro, only downside is our resident Sparrowhawk but that is nature…..
